Because maltitol is a corn derivative, EXCESSIVE consumption (it would be like eating 6 ears of corn!) MAY cause a slight laxative effect in sensitive stomachs. If you had an unfavorable experience with
maltitol, it’s probably because you tried a sugar-free hard candy (99% maltitol) or sugar free chocolate (95%
maltitol). I USE ONLY 30% BY VOLUME in the cookies.
